From 2012 to 2017, the gallery presented contemporary artistic dialogues between East and West. The focus was on European artists exploring the art and culture of East Asia and East Asian artists living in Europe.
For hundreds of years encounters between Europe and East Asia have also inspired the arts. They have served to highlight similarities and contrasts, establish links, and open up and broaden horizons. Our exhibitions presented painting, calligraphy, sculpture, ceramics, graphic art, photography and works in other media by artists who carry on the tradition of this artistic dialogue and who move and enrich through their work.
